I’m Virginia. For the most part. If you choose to stick with me, you might too discover there's more to you than your labels.
This space finds me delving headfirst into the notion of endless possibilities, which giddily feels like I've executed a 180-degree pirouette from my old life. After over 20 years of being defined by my buttoned down legal career, I recently decided to rip off some labels to try and figure out what’s underneath. I uncovered color!
Not right away though. I’d lived in the world of black and white for so long, that even grey was quite bashful in making any appearance. So let’s just say I was given a little push to pull a thread and make some dramatic changes to my life, where a world of color slowly seeped through.
You guessed it, I moved out of the legal profession, swapping my carefully curated appearance to one where the paint was no longer the first thing to hit my face in the morning, but a place to ooze my fingers in and get messy.
My journey of change began almost 3 years ago, leaving the legal profession behind to align with that thing pulling my heart, the world of the creative. A transition from the world of black and white to one where imagination is required to access the infinite colors of life’s potential and possibility.
Whilst I’m quite the noob in this realm, I thought it would be fun to share the creative journey as I am experiencing it.
I've discovered that creativity flourishes as we peel away the layers of those pesky ‘shoulds’ —those sometimes shadowy dictates that can cloud our lives. I’ve already penned some books and developed some short courses infused with this spirit.
In embracing these ideas I am now creating also some artwork that happens to be based on the idea that we create best when we have access to all the color of life.
